Bangkok sukhumvit road the “Venice of the East”

By Jean-Louis Deniot

In the dynamic urban hub of Sukhumvit, an impressive contemporary tower provides spectacular 360 degree views of the bustling city..

Jean Louis Deniot completely redesigned the three floors at the top of this prestigious building, which immediately reminded him of a big ship.

In this boat, every corridor and every window casing is framed with distressed steel. To give a more mineral quality, the walls are treated with marble powder and are colored in degrade from white to black.

The lines of the white wooden lounge chair contrast with the geometric shapes of the marble table and cylindrical side table. The result is a highly sensitive interior. The personalized carpet refers to the elements of smoke and wind.

In this 18,000-square-meter apartment, all the main functions are on the first level. Entertainment rooms and guest rooms are on the second. The third floor is reserved for outdoor dining, the swimming pool, the winter garden and the terrace.

Each living space takes into consideration the positions of the sunrise and sunsets to provide appropriate seating areas. With the passing seasons, the owners can favor certain levels more than others.

With only three bedrooms, the BANGKOK SUKHUMVIT ROAD is truly a reception apartment. It has been designed to comfortably accommodate a lot of guests.

There’s even a private gold grotto that opens at the flick of a switch. It was originally intended to be a bar, inspired by “One Night in Bangkok” and James Bond 007, but the layout was revised to make it a contemplation room.

The sleek design of the two Kandelabra floor lamps harmonizes perfectly with this interior, giving it verticality.

All the lighting comes from the baseboard for maximum comfort. In a gradation of gold, it begins with a dark bronze at floor level.
