The Belgravia House in London. A prestigious property in a historic neighborhood

By Jean-Louis Deniot

Jean-Louis Deniot is a French interior designer superstar capable to adds real value to a property. In this 5,000-square-foot duplex in London’s prestigious Belgravia neighborhood, he completely redesigned a four-bedroom house, previously consisting of three separate apartments. A house with many assets: a prime location, a double garden, its own front door and plenty of lateral space in a city where small rooms are the norm.

Jean-Louis Deniot is particularly focused on creating a sense of place. For instance, in this truly unique project, he installed floor-to-ceiling doors in the 18th-century English Adam style and didn’t hesitate to use antique. Something of a rarity in the world spec-house world, where the norm is contemporary furniture fresh from the factory.

Particular design care was taken in the creation of the staircase. The staircase’s modern, graphic lines give it a light, graceful feel. A pure line that reconciles classicism and modernity. The under-stair bench is a Kalix bench from the SPARKX collection.

Upstairs, large windows illuminate the corridor. The neutral tones and parquet flooring are particularly comforting. The Kalix stool invites you to relax.

For the Belgravia project, he also imported textiles from Thailand or had them custom made in Morocco and opted for bamboo rugs over silk ones.

First impressions last.
I wanted to mesmerize visitors straightaway.

Jean-Louis Deniot is fan of luxe details. The master bath’s tub and fittings are by Kallista. The midcentury Italian armchair is upholstered in Jim Thompson and Créations Métaphores fabrics, and the walls, tub surround, and flooring are Calacatta marble. The superb Okulus mirror in gilded ash wood is part of the Sparkx collection designed by Jean Louis Deniot.
